Crafting an Office Comedy

A court reporting agency in Southern California wanted something special to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Together, we created a hilarious office comedy that played off their personable, “treat you like family” reputation.

Everyone knows the founder and CEO, Todd Olivas. His humble nature and friendly, approachable personality is the bedrock of the company’s brand, and it has led them to great success. Simply put, he’s a great guy.

However, nobody wants to sit through a self-serving corporate video that talks about how great the company and CEO is. Instead, we envisioned a CEO who claims to be a cruel, nightmare boss but, in reality, just can’t help but treat others well. His attempts to “rule with an iron fist” backfire, and the employees love him for it.

This was a special opportunity because Todd Olivas is great on camera, has a creative background, and he contributed hilarious ideas throughout the process. The final video leverages those talents and a strong brand, with an end result that the audience absolutely loved, building even more connection with his community.
